Rooted here. Running for here.

Liam Olsen grew up in North Vancouver — on these streets, in these parks, part of these communities. This isn't a place he discovered or moved to for opportunity. This is home.

That local connection isn't just biography. It's the reason Liam is running. He has watched this city evolve, seen what's working and what isn't, and spent years in the kinds of spaces — community organizations, civic forums, neighbourhood conversations — where the real texture of local life becomes clear.

Now he's ready to bring that knowledge, and that commitment, directly to city hall.

Experience that's built on substance.

Liam's path to this candidacy runs through real work — in policy, in organizing, and in the community itself.

Public Policy & Government

Liam's professional life has been shaped by a genuine interest in how policy is made and how government can actually serve people better. He has worked in public policy contexts that gave him an inside view of how decisions get made — and where the gaps are.

That experience means he's not going to arrive at city hall needing to learn the fundamentals. He understands budget processes, stakeholder dynamics, and how to move things from conversation to outcome.

Community Organizing

One of the things Liam knows how to do — genuinely well — is bring people together. He has been involved in organizing efforts ranging from youth-led civic initiatives to broader community campaigns, and he's learned that real progress comes from building coalitions, not just making noise.

That skill — listening, identifying common ground, and moving people toward shared goals — is exactly what a city councillor needs.

Youth & Civic Leadership

Liam has been a civic participant, not just an observer. He served as National Youth Director for the Liberal Party of Canada under Prime Minister Mark Carney — a role that placed him at the intersection of national policy, political organizing, and youth engagement at the highest level.

That leadership history — from national politics back to the neighbourhood level — is why Liam's candidacy isn't just a step up. It's a natural extension of the work he's been doing: earning trust, delivering results, and showing up for the people he represents.
